TIME TO MOVE ON....

Yesterday was a moving day.  We packed up early and we were on the road after Bryan's first call of the morning.  New Hampshire was the destination and although we were sad to say goodbye to cable tv and our prime waterfront location, we were anxious to be on the road to NH!  A few hours into our trip we heard a very loud, very "not good" sound :-(  Bryan quickly pulled over and we discovered we had 2 flat tires!!!  It was 1:30 ish when I called Geico Roadside Assistance and at 3, we were still sitting there, with an operator in Georgia unable to locate help or tires!  Bryan decided to take matters into his own hands at that point and within 10 minutes of HIS search, he had purchased the new tires over the phone and someone was coming to get us back on the road.  That was a great life lesson - There are times when you just have to take matters into your own hands!

Woohoo!  Lee's Tire Service was there mere minutes after we called!  We were so incredibly happy to see the greasy angel in the Mountain Dew hat!

He got right to work, climbing under the rig - it was not an easy task!

We pulled into our campsite around 6:30pm.  Hello, New Hampshire!  We can't wait to explore for the next few days!!!

We have been so fortunate to visit so many different places over the last four months.  We stay at least 4 days in each location, sometimes an entire week as we did in MA.  It's almost enough time to get a sense for what it's like to live there.  Each leg is like a new "life" you get to live and each of the previous States seem like an entire lifetime ago.  So here we are in Maine.  2880 miles from our starting point in June.  We made a map for you to see.  We have 4 more States to go to complete New England, but it looks like we may get cut short because old man winter is moving in from the North.  Our last 2 nights in Vermont will get down in the 20's, which is not good for the Motorhome systems that we rely on. We have many more States to visit and many more miles to go.  We are looking forward to returning to Maryland soon to see our families, we miss them so much!  Time away is a reminder of how important your people are.

Bar Harbor, Maine

We're in Maine!  We're at the Bar Harbor/Oceanfront KOA.  The staff is very friendly here - they welcomed the kids with Popsicles!  We were upgraded to a beautiful waterfront site and we've seen some amazing sunsets and sunrises.  The fishing scene is pretty lame so far but the kids go out every morning at low tide and look for clams, starfish, and other sea life.  Acadia National Park is closed due to the government shutdown (which sucks) but people are still parking outside the closed gates and walking in.  We were some of those people :-)  Who knows when we'll get back here!  As Aaron said the other day, "You only live once!".  Check out some of  our pictures from Maine.

During low tide we can walk pretty far out!  There's our RV all the way on the right.

One of the highlights of the KOA was the Banana Bikes - the boys had a blast zooming around on these things!!!  The other highlight of the campground was the pancake breakfast!  $7 for my three guys!  

You could hear these boys hooting and hollering all through the campground!
