Las Vegas, Nevada

We made it to VEGAS!  We stayed at the Las Vegas Thousand Trails, right in Las Vegas.  It wasn't our typical wholesome, "getting back to nature" campground experience, but it was safe and clean.  We did a little bit of  "typical" Vegas...explored the opulent, extravagant casinos with the boys, watched the fountains/water show at the Bellagio, and visited Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium.  We could only take so much of that, so we expanded our horizons to find the more "family friendly" Vegas!  We succeeded :-)  We were amazed by the Hoover Dam and we visited Valley of Fire State Park (which was Nevada's First State Park).  We had a wonderful visit with Aunt Peggy and Uncle Warren and we explored Lake Mead.  We toured Boulder City (and the guys all got haircuts there!) and we rented a boat at Willow Beach and cruised down the Colorado River!  The outdoorsy, adventure- type stuff was more our speed!  Lots of great memories were made....and we survived the ghetto Walgreens when the boys were feeling less than spectacular!  We made many fabulous family memories in Las Vegas!!!  Here are some of our favorite pictures from our time in Las Vegas!

Dad "explaining" the ways of the casino...

Great visit with the Burls

Stunning!  It was HOT and Bodie almost burst into flames!

Cooling off back at the Jeep

Walked over the bridge and stood half in Nevada and half in Arizona!

It was a LOOOOONNNNNNNGGGG way down!

Probably thinking about fishing...

Always fun to stop and explore off the beaten path!

Renting a boat for the afternoon to explore the Colorado River was the Best.Idea.Ever!

The water was chilly & the fish weren't biting, but the sun was shining and we were together!

Goofing off back at the dock!

We stopped for a selfie after an awesome afternoon!
