Halloween 2014 Thousand Trails Chesapeake Bay

We love Halloween.  Throughout the course of our boys lives', we have had some epic Halloween celebrations.  We had to continue with the tradition, so we planned our whole fall travel itinerary around being somewhere where the boys could have an awesome Halloween experience.  Mission accomplished.  Here's what Halloween 2014 looked like for the Thomas Family!

Picked a peck of pumpkins...yes, they were Walmart specials but they were pleasantly plump and particularly perfect!
We carved pumpkins with our friends from RVHS
Everyone was very creative & careful :-)
Our RVHS friend, Gordon!
Braden carved an "R" for his favorite football team, the Redskins.
Aaron carved a scary Halloween face.
And I have managed to (barely) keep my mum alive since I adopted it in Hershey, PA.  WooHoo!
Bryan was terrified when he saw the boys Halloween costumes!!!!
Braden, our football player and Aaron, the Minecraft Creeper.
Our Trick-Or-Treating Crew 2014...did you see our friend Luke on the ground in his camo gear? Hahaha
Some tricks and some treats...Ms.Janis was a mad scientist- she have Aaron glass marbles!
It was a beautiful day to Trick-Or-Treat!
We met some interesting characters!  (Notice the severed head dangling from his creepy clown hand!!)
Bodie had an especially fabulous time Trick-Or-Treating!  He received soooo much love while we were walking around that night!
More love for Bodie!
He bellied up to the bar at this site!  We had to convince the people he doesn't like Sweet Tarts!
He's a happy, happy dog!
I was feeling a little "drained" after all the fun ;-)
The boys got lots of TREATS!
Yum!Yum!Yum!
A great time was had by all...

Gloucester, Virginia- Part 2

We have been having a blast at Thousand Trails Chesapeake Bay!  Our days are full- school ( and some fishing) in the mornings and group activities with the RV Homeschooler groups in the afternoons and evenings.  It's a beautiful fall here in Gloucester!  Here's a photo montage of our adventures.
RVHS HORSE tournament at the basketball courts
Solving the problems of the world around the campfire
Creating masterpieces in the warm October sun
The boys have made a lot of great friends!
Aaron created his own bike light with a small flashlight and some black electrical tape - now he's campground legal!
We hosted the Halloween Pillowcase Prep activity.  The campground told us to expect about 2000 trick or treaters!  We needed to get our bags ready to rock-n-roll!
Afternoon beach fun!

RVHS Field Trip to Gloucester Museum of History...we saw Gloucester Archaelogy exhibits, Revolutionary and Civil War displays and so much more!

Ancient artifacts
Clothes from times long past

Old time hearth
Dad, I took this picture for you!  Look at this contraption they used to catch flies in the olden days!
We toured the Colonial Courthouse and saw an informative video on Pochahontas and the Powhatan Indians. We also were able to tour and learn about the Debtors Prison which is located in the Gloucester Courthouse Circle Historic District.
Next stop, the birthplace of Dr. Walter Reed...
Simple, beautiful home

We toured the home and learned about the amazing man Dr. Walter Reed was...maybe one of the kids was inspired to go into the medical field?!?
And on the way home, I ran over this curb trying to get to the drive thru window at McDonalds...I was very thirsty!!!

Happy Birthday, Paul Moore!

Gloucester is only a hop, skip & a jump away from where our good friends, the Moore's live.  We had the chance to visit Paul & Lori and their sweet girls while we were here in Virginia!  It was also Paul's birthday, so we were especially excited to spend the day with their family!
Paul & Bryan, friends since high school!
Nick & Bryan, DBX brothers!
Our kids watching Sunday football
Andre!  He has such a funny sense of humor!!!! He is a cutie!!!!
Me & Lori!  She's a sweetheart & definitely the hostess with the mostest!!! She made us a meal we are still raving about!
Kaitlyn and Mackenzie taught the Thomas Boys how to play field hockey.
Those girls gave the boys a run for their money!  They all got along great!  Yes, Braden is playing field hockey with a wiffle ball bat!!!!
Lori & the girls made Paul's birthday cake from scratch.  Aaron & I helped them with the frosting...
Aaron has mad skills in the kitchen!
The girls were very good teachers.
Look at the kids working together!
TA-DA!  The cake, called a Rockingham Cake, was out of this world!!!
Paul was in charge of the steaks...my mouth is watering just looking at this picture...best.steaks.ever!  He cooked them in his Green Egg...
Happy Birthday, Paul!  ( They're kissing under the tarragon!). Thanks for sharing your day with us!!
