San Francisco, California

Our next stop on the journey was San Francisco!  Our home for the next two weeks was the San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica, California.  It was a great campground right on the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean!  They had a nice pool, a hot tub that the boys used almost every day, and it was within walking distance to a great bakery, an Italian deli, the grocery & the post office.  It was amazing to walk along the cliff side path, see whales swimming out in the ocean, and walk to lunch!  We weren't in Maryland anymore, that's for sure!  Our time here was filled with adventure!  We explored downtown SF (Pier 39 is awesome!), toured Alcatraz Island, drove down the most crooked street, went on a scavenger hunt through the giant redwoods in Muir Woods, the guys went indoor go-carting, we celebrated Aaron's birthday by indoor skydiving, trampolined in a historic airplane hangar at Crissy Field, toured Coit Tower and drove across the Golden Gate Bridge.  Braden caught and feasted on stone crabs and we all ate the most decadent mini donuts on Pier 39! We were close to all the action, but far away enough to get away from the hustle and bustle.  May is a month filled with celebrations for our family - we celebrated Mother's Day and Aaron's 12th birthday while we were here.  The boys' friend Avery (we met his family back in Oceano) was also here during this time, so that was a major bonus!  Here are some of our favorite pictures that we took during these fabulous two weeks!
There was so much to see and do in San Francisco...We had a checklist!!!!!

Here is the trail that led from our campground, through a little neighborhood, to the stores.  It was beyond beautiful, always breezy and we loved it!!!

Another view from the trail.  It was always a treat to see whales swimming out on the ocean.

One of our favorite places in San Francisco... We experienced something new every time we went downtown!  Our favorite food truck was here...Bacon, Bacon!

Coit Tower Tour

House of Air in San Francisco...In a historic airplane hangar filled with trampolines!  The boys made friends with the staff and once they heard our travel story, they gifted the boys a free hour of jumping!!!!

Crissy Field was awesome...Lots to see and do!  I'd love to go back here and spend some time!

Alcatraz Island Tour

Yikes!  Glad we don't have to live here!

It was an audio tour, and it was very captivating!  When you took off your headset, it was eerily quiet and very fitting for such a place.  We all thoroughly enjoyed our Alcatraz tour!

Back to Pier 39...

A sunnier view of Alcatraz

Piano Steps :-)

It was funny to stand at the bottom of the stairs and watch people walk up/down.  Most didn't realize they were really musical stairs...

Back at the campground...We found ways to amuse ourselves :-)

This was an amazing place to take a walk and take it all in!

Bodie is such a beach babe!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.....We LOVED our time here and would go back in a heart beat to visit!
