Badlands, South Dakota

Badlands, South Dakota was a place like no other...it was in the absolute middle of nowhere and the landscape was breathtaking.  The park itself was enormous and there were times when we would drive around and feel like we were the only ones out there.  We hiked, climbed and explored all the nooks and crannies of the Badlands National Park.  It was such a unique experience being so far away from civilization. We are very rarely far from a strip mall, McDonald's or a grocery store.  It was pretty cool.  One of our fondest memories at the Badlands was a powerful lightning storm...it is so dark out in the Badlands that the lightning was just so intense!  We all watched in awe and it was an amazing light show!  Thanks Mother Nature :-)
