Hershey, Pennsylvania 2018

After DC, we headed to the sweetest place on Earth...Hershey, Pennsylvania!  Our traveling tribe met there at the Hershey Thousand Trails Campground.  While we were in Hershey, we visited the Hershey Story Museum, where we learned the story of Milton Hershey and how the Hershey Company came to be.  We also learned what a wonderful philanthropist Mr. Hershey was and how his legacy continues today in the Milton Hershey School.  It was a very informative visit and we learned so much about this amazing man.
We were able to do an fun chocolate tasting experience while in Hershey!  Most of us enjoyed the Hershey's Milk Chocolate best.
Aaron and I toured  the AACA Museum where we saw various vintage cars!  We really enjoyed our time there!  My favorite was the Kiss Mobile and Aaron loved them all!  He loves cars!
We also took some really great and educational tours while in Hershey with our homeschool friends.  We  did the Hershey Trolley Tour of the town, the Hershey Chocolate Tour, the UTZ Potato Chip Tour, the Wilbur Chocolate Tour (to compare and contrast the chocolate quality!), and the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Factory Tour (which was very hands-on and we made our own pretzels!)  We also had the opportunity to visit the Daybreak Poly Furniture Factory, where our traveling friends, the Baumans', make some amazing furniture from recycled milk jugs!
Our family also had the privilege of going on an Old Amish Tour, where we toured the Amish countryside, visited an Amish Farm and were treated to Shoo fly pie in a real Amish kitchen.  The Amish host was as fascinated by our traveling lives as we were about her Amish life.  There was also a Jewish couple in our group from New York who only ate Kosher, and we learned a lot about them as well.
We made some wonderful memories in Hershey and we can't wait to go back!
