This part of the trip has been really cool and educational! We are staying at a campground called Pinewoods Lodge Campground only about 4 miles from downtown Plymouth. The first night we went down to the waterfront and had a delicious seafood dinner at Cabby's ( the lobster gets 2 thumbs up!) We explored a bit on our own but decided to go on the Lantern Tour of Plymouth the following night to get the inside scoop on the real history of the town! We are soooo thankful we did because we learned so much and we had a private tour of Plymouth with a local named Barry. We all carried lanterns and we weaved our way through the town after sun down. We saw the Mayflower 2, learned about the Speedwell (the "other" boat) and the Pilgrims and the "strangers". We learned more about the relationship between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans (did you know that the Native Americans hold a protest overlooking Plymouth Rock/Plymouth Harbor every Thanksgiving???) We saw parts of the town that we never would have seen and heard stories of long ago that we wouldn't have heard if we hadn't gone on the Lantern Tour. It was one of the highlights of Plymouth! Today we went back to visit Burial Hill and to see all the sights in the day light. We also did "campground" type things today ( Saturday) We roasted marshmallows, rowed a boat/fished, sat around the campfire and rested a bit. Tomorrow is a moving day... We'll be off to Salem after breakfast. Good Night!
All settled in!

The lake at the campground
Hmm...don't see signs like this everyday!
Braden has managed to catch fish here even though the lake level is way down- He's caught bass, yellow perch, sunfish and one unidentified species :-) He has the best luck on the dock that says " No Fishing" though...isn't it ironic ;-)
The trees are starting to change!!!!
Sitting outside the camp store & arcade
On Friday, during our school day, we made a Jello model of an animal cell in the RV.

Walking and learning... Probably walking where the Pilgrims walked!!!
(Night view) Plymouth Rock is in here...
(Morning) Here it is in the light! It may just look like another rock but after you hear the story, it's so much more than just another rock!
Plymouth Rock is down there!!!

National Day of Mourning Explanation
This is where all the people who died that first winter were buried under cover of darkness... It has the names of all those lost :-(
