Easton, Maryland

Still bopping around the East Coast...Back in Easton...Starting the school year strong, lots of time spent with Grammy, Mom-Mom & GranDaddy...learning important life skills and having tons of fun!!!  Here is what we were up to in early September 2016...

Bodie is thankful to be back on Glebe Road!

Creating Egyptian Pyramids with marshmallows and toothpicks

Working hard

Braden really enjoyed this hands-on project

Look at these guys!!!

To continue our Egyptian journey, we learned how to make Pita Bread with Grammy & Mom-Mom

My boys really know their way around the kitchen!

Measuring out ingredients takes skill, patience, and precision!

Everything is better with honey!

Preparing the dough

Looks like someone got a pat on the back for their hard work :-)

Making memories...and pita bread!

Pure happiness!

Spending quality time with our Mom-Mom

Cat-napping!

Our first Maker Faire

Bryan and I took Aaron to the Silver Spring Maker Faire and it was beyond AWESOME!

So many hands-on learning opportunities...We LOVE technology and learn best by "doing".

Virtual Reality at its best!

Aaron had a chance to learn a bit of coding!

We met young scientists who created new and innovative creations...they were so inspiring!

We were schooled in Robotics!

Check out this 3D printed sculpture of Edgar Allen Poe.  It was a collaborative project constructed by many people from all over the world!

We were lucky enough to get a space in the soldering class!  Aaron was thrilled - It's been on his list of things to try!

Love that he now has this new set of skills!

Beyond cool!

WooHoo!

Ok, so this was our big purchase of the day.  Aaron loved the "idea" of having a Raspberry Pi, but we were a bit clueless as to what to do with it :-)  Turns out, many people have the same issue and this product (created by some great folks we met at the Make Faire) was the magical solution!  So far, Aaron has assembled the kit and  completed about 15 of the 50 lessons.  It's  great learning tool and we give it 2 thumbs up!

Learning more about technology!

Haha!!!  I love this picture!  Aaron thinks we're goofy!

GranDaddy giving gun safety lessons.

A little target practice

Practice makes perfect

His first programming feat!

Pie Making with his Great Grandmother

Learning about gardening with GranDaddy

Harvesting sweet potatoes

Small portion of the late season harvest

Checking in with the Orthopedic doctor - It's still broken!
Unearthing our mummies!  It was an action- packed, adventure-filled visit!
